We’re off to a good start with the campaign to raise funds through Kickstarter for my album project, Patience. (For a full explanation of the various album projects I’ve got going, click here.) The campaign went live on the morning of Monday October 7th, and since then we have raised $1,240. We’ve still got a long way to go, but I feel good about how it’s going out of the gate. At an average of $300/day, we’re well on our way to a $10,000 victory by my 27th birthday.
I am very pleased to see so many people purchasing the preorder that includes Origin Myths, a USB stick loaded with rare and unreleased mp3s from the length and breadth of my creative life to date. I’m so excited to stuff that little flash drive like a Christmas stocking that I may have to make a couple of special new recordings to include on it – such is my gratitude and love for the people who are helping to make this happen for me. It will also include PDFs of all the stories behind all the songs. I would dedicate it especially to those of you who have been my fans from the beginning, when I was strumming my guitar in the halls instead of sitting in class.
I am mildly disappointed that no one has submitted a response to my picture riddle at the end of the video yet, but I am nothing if not patient. There’s that word again.
If you haven’t dropped by to watch my pitch video and hear some samples of the music of Patience, please click here and take a gander. If you love it, please consider preordering your copy and telling your friends to do the same. As with any Kickstarter campaign, if we don’t raise the full amount, no one’s accounts get charged – it’s all or nothing.
Love and pancakes,
Vanessa Cardui, recording artist and dreamer
