Last night I had the pleasure of being a featured artist in the Ink Spot Collective’s Geek Slam poetry night at Wine-Ohs. My very talented friend Erin Dingle invited me to contribute a set of nerdy songs, including my Greek material from Thought Experiment and my geek material from the upcoming release Filk and Cookies. Playing for poets and literary folk is one of the things I enjoy the most as a performer – I discovered that when I attended When Words Collide 2012 as the songwriting guest of honour. Poets listen. I got to play some of my favourite songs for a whole new batch of people who opened their ears to my lyrics and gasped and laughed along with me. It was a great time, and I hope to play with the Ink Spot Collective again soon.
